Who I Am

Hello

My name is Joseph but I prefer to go by the name of Joe.  I come from a multi-cultural background of German and Native American.  I was born in Minot, North Dakota in the month of August 1989. Though I was born in North Dakota I have lived in Albany, Minnesota most of my life.  I went to school at Albany High School where I played football, track, and golf.  My high school was not diverse but I was friends with everyone.  After high school, I only had a full week of summer before I enlisted and shipped off to Marine Corps Basic Training. That was the most difficult three months of my life.  From there I went to Marine Corps Combat Training and after that went to my school to learn my job of amphious assault crewman.  The Marines that were in my platoon became my brothers and I would do anything for them.  My time in the Marines had it's up and down, but I enjoyed it and miss it. I did one deployment on the 11th Marine expeditionary Unit, where I went to several countries including Thailand, Japan, Kuwait, Indonesia, and United Arab Emirates.  After I got out of the Marines I went to work in the New York. I worked as a construction worker in the 731 Laborer's Union.  I decided to come back to the Minnesota to pursue a college degree.  This is my first year of college and I am very excited to meet new people and obtain my bachelor’s degree.  My intended major is nursing which I hope to complete in 2016.
